The Prototype

The game will demonstrate the conditions under which the shortest possible time period for returning the money will occur. The model will be successful when the time period during which the player achieves the goal is shorter than the real-world time period needed to return the payment of the investor.

What's involved

A 2D video-game simulation based on a map of the community mentioned in the proposal above. Within this simulation, gamers will be able to choose the following:

  1. The investor (from the top 1%) who will be the main funding source for the community.

  2. The unit whose consumption and work they will be managing (playing as).

  3. The behavior of the unit (individual) or members of the unit (family):

    1. Adult - The frequency of attendance and quality of work at their job.

    2. Child - The frequency of attendance and quality of work at school.

  4. Consumption of the unit.

    1. Number of children at school.

    2. Food and water required to maintain health.

    3. Medical attention required.

    4. Area of housing required.

The simulation will model real-world values for salaries for such workers, school fees, and other cost of living considerations. It will also take into account qualitative features such as poor health (if a player decides to minimize food and water consumption to an unhealthy extent), declining happiness (and hence health) after overworking (if a player decides to maximize earnings by working for too many hours). The goal of the player is to maintain health and happiness while paying back the return amount in the shortest possible time period.
